Avotek is pleased to announce it has hired Dennis DeMille as Production Manager. Dennis spent 21 years active duty in the U.S. Marines and retired in 2004. Since then, he has gained 18 years of experience at manufacturing companies. He has a history of decreasing lead times, improving quality and service, and increasing customer satisfaction. He looks forward to bolstering our manufacturing operation and helping customers build success with Avotek products. Dennis is also a licensed pilot and has a keen interest in aviation. He and Lori, his wife of 35 years, have three daughters and eight grandchildren.
Aircraft fuel systems started with gravity systems that had only four parts. Now we have complex turbine engine systems with three types of pumps, several types of filters, a crossfeed system, pressure return lines, bottom pressure refueling with digital readouts, and all going into, or out of, several tanks at the same time.
Need an introduction to the basics of aircraft fuels, fuel system types, the components in the fuel system, and the basics of maintenance and inspection of the aircraft fuel systems? Get it with Avotek-Online’s newest course, Aircraft Fuel Systems.
With a total run time of 48 minutes, this program is presented in three lessons; Aircraft Fuel Basics, System Types and Components, and Inspection and Maintenance. Purchase Aircraft Fuel Systems on the here.
Risk Management for Aviation Maintenance Technicians is Avotek’s newest publication for improving flight safety by means of risk management.
Air travel is very safe, but more can be done to make it even more so. A key way to do this is to manage risk. David Jones explains risk management in the aircraft maintenance environment in a language and format for the AMT student. With the introduction of risk management elements to the ACS, it is critical that this information is available to candidates for certification.
This eight-chapter title contains photos and illustrations. It is available as a softcover book or as a web-based or downloadable eBook. Purchase Risk Management for Aviation Maintenance Technicians here!
Avotek-Online has released Airframe Fire Protection Systems, an online course that introduces students to the systems responsible for small and large aircraft fire protection and extinguishing.
Because fire is one of the most dangerous threats to an aircraft, the potential fire zones of larger aircraft may be protected by fire protection and extinguishing systems. This program introduces the student to these systems as they may appear on both large and small aircraft. It examines several types of detection systems, the extinguishing agents commonly used, and the various delivery systems for these agents.
Airframe Fire Protection Systems runs for 44 minutes and is presented in two lessons:
- Fire Detection Systems
- Fire Extinguishing Systems
Airframe Fire Protection Systems is your next step toward state-of-the-art aviation maintenance training technology. Enroll in the course today!
Ice and rain present some of the most difficult conditions for aircraft to operate in. Ice and Rain Control Systems explores some of the most common systems in use to handle these weather phenomena. This program looks at the most popular methods used to prevent icing, remove accumulated ice and systems used to allow flight crews to better see what is ahead when operating in rainy conditions.
Condensed into twenty-five minutes, Ice and Rain Control Systems is the latest release in Avotek-Online’s Aircraft System Maintenance category. This category is designed to meet the FAA standard released in 2022. The material covers the curriculum requirements for the new Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and relates well to either the Avotek textbooks or the Federal Aviation Administration’s 8083 maintenance series.
Avotek-Online announces another addition to our Aircraft System Maintenance Category of aviation maintenance training programs. Cabin Environmental Systems provides an overview of the systems that are installed to provide passenger safety and comfort. These include Oxygen, Pressurization, Heating and Air Conditioning. With a total run time of 60 minutes, this program is divided into three easy-to-process lessons.
The Aircraft Systems Maintenance Category is designed to meet the requirements of the recently released Airman Certification Standards (ACS) for Mechanics, this material can be used to support a Part 147 curriculum, or any other aircraft maintenance education program.

Avotek is happy to announce the release of another online learning program in our Aircraft System Maintenance category. Aircraft Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems is the second release in this category and joins the Aircraft Water and Waste Systems material that was introduced in November.
This course includes an introduction to hydraulic and pneumatic systems used on aircraft. The material covers theory, components, operation, and basic maintenance tasks. As with our other courses in this series, the material covers the curriculum requirements for the new Airman Certification Standards, and relates well to either the Avotek AMT Series Textbooks, or the Federal Aviation Administration AMT Handbook series.

Aircraft Nondestructive Testing takes a deep dive with a modern take on nondestructive testing (NDT) to maintain aircraft and extend an aircraft’s useful life even more. This book explores many types of NDT that are commonly used in the aviation industry. You can see the physical, chemical, and electrical concepts that are applied and how they are used to help the technician “see” the defect without having to destroy the part in the process.
With 215 pages, illustrations, photos, glossary, and an index this publication remains an easily consumable resource for aviation maintenance training students or as a training tool for repair stations. Aircraft Nondestructive Testing is an alternative to NDT books that have been the standard for decades. Don’t settle for outdated information.
